CTOnews.com, October 2, Linus Torvalds recently released Linux 6.6-rc4 as the latest test version of the kernel, and the official version is expected to be released around the end of October.

The development of Linux 6. 6 went quite smoothly, and Linus Torvalds said that the weekly kernel release changes were quite small. He wrote in the 6.6-rc4 announcement:

Now you all know what to do. If you don't count a week's absence of pull as strange, there's nothing particularly strange here. This does cause the rc4 to be quite small, but I suspect we will only see a larger rc5 to compensate.

The change in GPU is also quite small, so in fact, both large driver subsystems are quiet. But everything else seems normal.

The libata suspend / restore process occurs because it no longer uses the generic version of SCSI that caused the problem. In addition, it is a random combination of fixes-other driver and architecture fixes, some tools and documentation, and file system and core kernel fixes.

There are not many noticeable fixes for Linux 6.6-rc4. CTOnews.com found that this version ushered in support for Intel Arrow Lake NPU and alleviated Inception / SRSO problems.
