Microsoft's move has caused a lot of user dissatisfaction, especially since the app, which cannot be uninstalled, cannot run on Windows 10 LTSC and enterprise systems.

Microsoft pointed out that Windows Backup, like Windows Settings, is a system component that cannot be removed from the system, while the current Windows Backup app is mainly aimed at consumer devices, which means it is only suitable for individual users.

As a result, Microsoft eventually agreed to hide it from the Start menu on enterprise systems or LTSC machines, but not remove it.

Microsoft has hinted that they are preparing for an upcoming Windows update that will automatically hide Azure Active Directory (AAD) or Active Directory (AD) accounts when they are detected, especially for Windows 10/11 Professional, Education, or Enterprise users.

After the next update, Windows Backup will disappear from the user interface area, including the All Applications or Installed Applications list, but it will continue to exist on the user system.
