When asked about the studio abandoning the RED engine and switching to the Unreal 5 engine, Gabe Amatangelo responded that the move was the right "strategic shift" for future games.

CDPR announced last year that the next series of "Wizards" and the sequel to the "Orion" series will be developed with Unreal 5, while the RED engine, which has been available since Wizards 2 in 2011, will fulfill its historic mission.
