1. Introduction to the function COUNTIF can count the cells in a specified range that meet the specified conditions

The syntax rules for this function are as follows:

= COUNTIF (range,criteria)

Translate:

= COUNTIF (counting area, counting condition)

There are only two parameters for this function, which is very simple, and rookies can also easily learn!

2. Case operation: first of all, in the following data, √ stands for attendance and x represents absence.

Now we need to count the number of days of absence for each person in May!

It's actually very simple! Just enter the formula in the B3 cell:

Meaning of the formula:

= COUNTIF (C3pura AG3jig3) Parameter ❶: C3:AG3 is the counting area: represents the attendance record within 31 days of May.

The parameter ❷: $junk 3 is the conditional region: J3 cell content is x, which means that x is counted.

J3 cell content is x, that is, the condition for counting is x, and an absolute reference is required to ensure that the reference does not offset when the formula is filled.
