Tax collectors suspected Lenovo of tax evasion, so they conducted a search to gather evidence and confirm actionable intelligence in this regard, the source said.

Two sources said Indian income tax officials checked Lenovo employees' laptops during a visit on Wednesday as part of the investigation, Reuters reported. As part of the investigation, they also tried to contact Lenovo executives during and after the visit, the person added.
