Thanks to CTOnews.com netizen OC_Formula for the clue delivery! CTOnews.com Sept. 28, Samsung has not launched a new Evo series SSD since the launch of 870 Evo and 970 Evo Plus SSD. According to foreign media computerbase, Samsung may launch 990 Evo SSD.

As the picture above shows, Samsung's magician software has exposed the 990 EVO SSD that has not yet been released. According to foreign media reports, the SSD entered the PCI-SIG database with the code name "9C1" as early as October 2022.

At present, detailed parameters of this SSD are not available. For reference, Samsung introduced the PM9C1a SSD,PCIe 4.0 x 4 specification for OEM in January, with sequential read speeds of 6000 MB/s, sequential write speeds of 5600 MB/s, and random read and write speeds of 900k IOPS and 1000k IOPS.

Currently, Samsung's flagship SSD is 990 PRO, using three-star eighth-generation V-NAND technology and Samsung's own controller. 1TB and 2TB models are currently available, and the 4TB model will be available in October.
