CTOnews.com Sept. 28, China Eastern Airlines announced today that it signed the "C919 aircraft Sale and purchase Agreement" with Commercial aircraft Corporation of China (hereinafter referred to as "Comac") on September 28 to purchase 100 C919 aircraft from Comac. The 100 aircraft are scheduled to be delivered to the company in batches from 2024 to 2031.

▲ source: China Eastern Airlines said that the total catalogue price of the 100 C919 aircraft purchased this time is about US $9.9 billion (open market quotation, 2023 catalogue price). Comac gives the company a substantial price discount, so the actual price of this batch of aircraft is significantly lower than the above catalogue price.

According to the midpoint exchange rate of RMB against the US dollar announced by the people's Bank of China on the day of the signing of the transaction agreement (1 US dollar to 7.1798 RMB), the list price of this purchase of C919 aircraft is about 71.08 billion yuan. The above catalogue prices include fuselage, engine and so on.

This is the largest single order for the C919, and China Eastern Airlines is currently the world's largest user of the C919 large airliner. According to the plan, the C919 aircraft purchased this time will be delivered in batches from 2024 to 2031. Of these, five are planned to be delivered in 2024, 10 per year from 2025 to 2027, 15 from 2028 to 2030 and 20 in 2031.
