Today, Sony announced that Ryan, who has worked at Sony for 30 years, will resign as CEO and president of Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) in March 2024. At 10:00, Hiroki, president, chief operating officer and chief financial officer of Sony will become interim chief executive of SIE after Ryan leaves.

CTOnews.com noted that Ryan mentioned the difficulty of reconciling his family life in Europe with his work responsibilities in North America in his statement on his departure, saying, "after 30 years of work, I decided to retire from SIE in March 2024 and I enjoyed working in a very special company with excellent colleagues and incredible partners. Ryan has been in charge of PlayStation since 2019, including the launch of PS5. The British executive has worked in Sony's PlayStation division for nearly 20 years, serving as head of SIE's European operations and global marketing.
