CTOnews.com downloaded to Toyota's official detailed data sheet, and by region, Toyota (including Lexus) sold 175800 vehicles in China in August 2023, down 6.6 per cent from a year earlier. Toyota officials said sales in China fell year-on-year due to a rebound in purchase tax breaks introduced in the same month last year and increased competition.

Looking at electric vehicle data, Toyota (including Lexus) sold 301800 electric vehicles (including hybrid) in August 2023, up 48.9% from a year earlier, while electric vehicle (including hybrid) sales in China were 67800, up 27% from a year earlier.
