CTOnews.com Sept. 28, CMOS image sensor supplier Stevie announced the launch of Cellphone Sensor (CS) Series mobile phone application 1300 megapixel image sensor product-SC1320CS.

According to reports, this new backlit (BSI) image sensor has the ultra-small chip size of 23.61mm2 and is equipped with Stevie's unique SmartClarity-3 technology, which can be used in smartphone rear main, rear ultra-wide-angle and front-facing.

SC1320CS uses Stevie SmartClarity-3 technology, combined with SFCPixel technology and BSI pixel architecture. Compared with previous technology products, the sensitivity and quantum efficiency (QE) of SC1320CS are increased by about 23% and 12%, respectively, and the dynamic range is relatively improved by about 4dB.

In addition, SC1320CS supports PDAF (automatic Phase Detection focus) technology, which provides faster focusing speed.

SC1320CS is also equipped with Stevie's ultra-low noise peripheral reading circuit technology, with read noise (Read Noise) and fixed noise (FPN) as low as 1.1e-and 0.2e-respectively, which is said to be significantly lower than that of products of the same specifications in the industry by about 48 per cent and 30 per cent respectively. The pixel response non-uniformity (PRNU) and white spot (White Pixel) of SC1320CS decreased by 16% and 65%, respectively.

In addition, SC1320CS has the ultra-small chip size of 23.61mm2, which claims to be about 14% less than products of the same specification in the industry, which can reduce the size of camera modules and save space for smartphone hardware system integration.

CTOnews.com learned from Stevie officials that SC1320CS has currently accepted the delivery of samples and is expected to achieve mass production of Q4 in 2023.
