CTOnews.com Sept. 28, Meta announced a new chat robot, named Meta AI, on Meta Connect 2023 early this morning. The company is also working with Microsoft to integrate Bing search into Meta AI chatbots.

Meta said Meta AI is now available as a beta in the United States. Users can access Meta through its social media and chat services, including WhatsApp, Messenger and Instagram.

It is supported by a custom model that leverages the technology of Llama 2 and our latest big language model (LLM) research. In text-based chat, Meta AI can access real-time information through its search partnership with Bing and provide image generation tools.

Yusuf Mehdi, vice president and chief marketing officer of Microsoft, commented on the new partnership with Meta on his official Bing blog:

In addition to the Microsoft portfolio, we are a platform company that provides others with the tools and services they need to achieve their AI ambitions. That's why today we are pleased to announce that we have begun working with Meta to integrate Bing into Meta AI's chat experience to provide more timely and up-to-date answers by accessing real-time search information. The integration of Bing extends to Meta AI and some other AI of Meta and can be used to send messages in WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram.

In addition, Bing search is integrated into OpenAI's ChatGPT. As CTOnews.com previously reported, OpenAI announced today on its X account that ChatGPT can now browse the Internet, supported by Microsoft Bing and provide direct source links, and ChatGPT is no longer limited to data prior to September 2021.
