CTOnews.com, September 27, Silicon Valley, the cradle of technological innovation, has many legendary start-up stories. One of the most classic scenes is the garage, such as Hewlett-Packard and Google were born in the garage.

But 30 years ago, another legendary company in Silicon Valley had an unusual origin. Nvidia was born not in a garage, but in a corner booth at a Denny's restaurant in East San Jose, where breakfast and unlimited coffee are served.

On Tuesday, Huang Renxun (Jensen Huang), Nvidia's co-founder and CEO, returned to the company's birthplace and recalled how he and his partners Curtis Priem and Chris Malachowsky discussed the idea of making graphics chips for the video game industry in Denny's at the restaurant at 2484 Berryessa Road between Interstate 680 and North Capitol Avenue.

"you know, the best thing about Denny's is that you can drink unlimited amounts of coffee and no one will drive you away," Huang said. "once you come here, you will be welcomed and the coffee will keep filling up. We will stay here for two or three hours and talk about what the gaming industry will look like."

Huang Renxun is not alone in nostalgia. He is surrounded by media reporters, Denny's and Nvidia employees. Denny's 's CEO Valade (Kelli Valade) also presented Huang Renxun with a plaque to be hung on their seats with the words "start a seat for a trillion-dollar company". Thanks to soaring sales of its artificial intelligence chips, Nvidia's market capitalization exceeded $1 trillion earlier this year (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 7.31 trillion yuan).

As part of the campaign, Denny's announced that it would launch a competition to provide innovators with $25000 in seed funding to realize their entrepreneurial dreams.
