CTOnews.com, September 27, according to Indian media Live Mint, Samsung plans to produce notebook computers in India in October this year due to import licenses for laptops and tablets in India.

Sources say Samsung's mobile phone factory in Greater Noida will adjust some of its production lines to produce notebooks, with an estimated annual production of 60, 000 to 70, 000 units on an initial scale.

Compared with industry giants such as Hewlett-Packard, Dell and Lenovo, Samsung does not have a high share of the Indian notebook market. Initially, Samsung plans to invest 10-2 billion rupees (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 87.8 million-176 million yuan). The first batch of products is expected to be limited to a few best-selling models. It is not clear whether additional investment will be made in the future.
