CTOnews.com September 27 news, China Association of Automobile Manufacturers collated by the National Bureau of Statistics data show:

From January to August 2023, the automobile manufacturing industry completed an operating income of 6165.19 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 10.9%, accounting for 7.3% of the total operating income of industrial enterprises above designated size.

From January to August 2023, the profit of automobile manufacturing industry was 303.59 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 2.4%, accounting for 6.5% of the total profit of industrial enterprises above designated size. From January to August 2023, the profit margin of automobile manufacturing industry was 4.9%.

CTOnews.com noted that China Automobile Association data show that China's automobile production and sales in August completed 2.575 million and 2.582 million vehicles respectively, month-on-month growth of 7.2% and 8.2% respectively, year-on-year growth of 7.5% and 8.4% respectively.

1-8 In January, the production and sales of automobiles were 18.225 million and 18.21 million respectively, up 7.4% and 8% year-on-year respectively. The production growth rate was flat compared with January-July, and the sales growth rate dropped 0.1 percentage point compared with January-July.

In August this year, the production and sales of new energy vehicles in China completed 843,000 and 846,000 respectively, with month-on-month growth of 4.7% and 8.5% respectively, year-on-year growth of 22% and 27% respectively, and market share reached 32.8%.

1-8 In January, the production and sales of new energy vehicles in China completed 5.434 million and 5.374 million respectively, up 36.9% and 39.2% respectively, and the market share reached 29.5%.

In August, the domestic sales volume of new energy vehicles was 756,000, up 11.4% month-on-month and 29.7% year-on-year; the export volume of new energy vehicles was 90,000, down 11.2% month-on-month and 8.1% year-on-year.

1-8 In January, the domestic sales volume of new energy vehicles was 4.647 million, an increase of 32% year-on-year; the export volume of new energy vehicles was 727,000, an increase of 1.1 times year-on-year.

From January to August of this year, the sales volume of the top ten enterprise groups in China's new energy vehicle sales totaled 4.675 million vehicles, up 53.8% year-on-year, accounting for 87% of the total sales volume of new energy vehicles, 8.2 percentage points higher than the same period last year.

The whole new energy market is still in a rapid growth stage. Among the top 10 enterprises (groups) in sales volume of new energy vehicles, compared with the same period last year, the growth rate of ideal vehicles was the most significant, with a year-on-year growth rate of 1.8 times. The sales growth rate of SAIC and Dongfeng decreased, while other enterprises increased to varying degrees.

BYD, Tesla and SAIC Group ranked the top three in China's market concentration in August, accounting for 55.1% of the total, of which BYD reached 274,000 vehicles, while Tesla and SAIC reached 84,000 and 91,000 vehicles.
