According to Ji Bang Consulting report, with the continuous production reduction of major storage manufacturers, the effect of destocking has been shown in the market, and it is expected that NAND Flash prices will rise after DRAM prices pick up.

In order to reduce losses, NAND flash memory suppliers have reduced production many times since 2023, and now the relevant results have been shown. It is reported that the price of NAND Flash chip contract rebounded in August and continued to rise in September.

Industry giant Samsung continued to cut production, mainly in products with less than 128 layers, which fell by 50% in September, prompting other manufacturers to follow suit.

Market experts also predict that the price of NAND flash memory will continue to rise in the fourth quarter. Ji Bang Consulting is optimistic about the price of NAND flash memory in the fourth quarter, estimated to grow by about 3 to 8 per cent, higher than the initial forecast of 0 to 5 per cent.

CTOnews.com quoted Ji Bang Consulting as saying that DRAM's recovery is slightly later and is expected to start rising in the fourth quarter of this year, marking the beginning of a new growth cycle.

Industry experts pointed out that the rise in DRAM prices is not only due to production cuts and inventory clearance and other factors, but also related to the artificial intelligence market. The limited demand for DDR5 in the data center market driven by AI applications led to an early surge in prices.
