France has threatened to recall the machine if Apple refuses to update its software. French authorities have received a software update from Apple for its iPhone 12 and are reviewing it, a French digital source told Reuters on Tuesday.

CTOnews.com noted that Apple had previously questioned the French findings, saying that iPhone 12 had been certified by a number of international agencies and met global standards, but the company said on September 15 that it would release software updates to suit the testing methods used in France.

Researchers have conducted a number of studies over the past two decades to assess the health risks of mobile phones. According to the World Health Organization, it has not yet been determined that they have any adverse health effects.
