CTOnews.com Sept. 26, UAE Telecom recently announced the successful completion of the 400G@Super ClearL transport network test carried out in cooperation with Huawei. The traditional extended C-band solution supports only 4.8 THz of spectrum resources, while the Super ClearL solution tested jointly by Emirates Telecom and Huawei can support 12 THz of spectrum resources.

CTOnews.com noted that Huawei had previously launched Super 200G / 400G / 800G and Super ClearL band solutions. The two schemes not only increase the single-wave rate and single-fiber capacity, but also reduce the cost per bit and power consumption, and aim to double the capacity at the same transmission distance and achieve 100T per fiber.

In the 400G transmission between 100GHz channels, the ultra-long distance transmission based on G.652 optical fiber (without Raman signal) can be realized for commercial use of more than 1200 km, which is 20% longer than the industry average.

Huawei's large-scale commercial Super C-band solution extends the available spectrum by 25 per cent compared with traditional C-band. Clipl band is the main development direction to improve the available spectrum of single fiber.
