Optimized for the Chinese computer vision market, Metavision ®EVK5 is a high-speed, cost-effective, compact evaluation suite

Shanghai, China, September 25, 2023-Prophesee, a leading neuromimicry vision sensing company, today announced the launch of a high-speed, cost-effective and compact evaluation kit (EVK) to meet the needs of computer vision developers who want to develop applications based on the stack event vision sensor IMX646 HD.

The EVK is fully functional, designed and manufactured in China, and optimized for local needs in China, providing a fully tested solution for computer vision engineers, which is a good helper for efficient technical introduction and rapid prototyping development. In addition, the suite is compatible with Prophesee's five-award-winning Metavision ®Intelligence software and is equipped with technical support, access to knowledge centers, application instructions, advanced documentation, and a fast-growing community forum of more than 10000 developer users worldwide.

The stack event vision sensor IMX646 combines Sony's CMOS image sensor technology with Prophesee's unique Metavision ®event vision sensor technology, which can provide a delay output of less than 800 μ s at 1K lux, a dynamic range larger than 110dB, and can operate in low light conditions as low as 0.08 lux. The sensor achieves the smallest pixel size of * 14.86 μ m in the industry, with a 2.5-type of 1max, and about 920000 effective pixels. With industry-leading pixel spacing and a high resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, the IMX646 is ideal for a variety of visual use cases, including the Internet of things, surveillance cameras, consumer applications, and more.

The new EVK5 also comes with Prophesee Metavision ®Intelligence software. Metavision ®Intelligence software is currently the most comprehensive event vision software in the industry, providing 95 algorithms, 79 code examples and 24 tutorials, and is constantly expanded and refined by developers in the global open source community to promote efficient application development. Its technical breadth enables developers to quickly carry out various design explorations and effectively integrate customized software applications according to specific market needs.

About EVK5

The new EVK is made of high-quality aluminum alloy, weighs only 95 grams and has a size of 35x35x35.27 mm. It can be installed in a machine vision system with limited space.

The kit is charged by USB and comes with a CS interface lens, a CS to M12 adapter ring, a USB-A to USB-A data cable, a tripod transfer nut, an EVS trigger cable, and a getting started guide.
