Regarding the rumor that Ford stopped building a plant in the United States with the Ningde era, a staff member of the Securities Department of the Ningde Times responded to Science and Technology Innovation Board Daily: "it is false news, and our progress is smooth."

A few years ago, electric cars outside China rarely used LFP batteries, but that is starting to change. At present, some of Tesla's electric vehicles already use LFP batteries, while Ford has obtained the supply of LFP batteries from Ningde era for Mustang Mach-E and other models.

In February, Ningde Times announced a partnership with Ford to build a battery factory in Michigan to produce new lithium iron phosphate batteries, and Ningde Times will license patented battery technology.

The plant, called Blue Oval Battery Park Michigan, in Marshal, Michigan, is scheduled to open in 2026 and has an annual capacity of 35 GWh, enough to supply 400000 electric vehicles at a cost of about $3.5 billion, according to public sources.

"We have suspended work and will limit construction spending to Marshall until we are confident of our competitiveness to run the plant," a Ford spokesman told the Detroit News. He added that no final decision had been made.

In addition, Ford has three North American battery plants under construction. This is a joint venture with SK Innovation, with two in Kentucky and a third in Tennessee.

According to reports, the plant plans to invest US $3.5 billion (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 25.585 billion yuan, wholly owned by Ford), is expected to start production in 2026, and will create at least 2500 jobs in the United States. Ford said in May that it expected the plant to reach about 42GWh a year when it was fully operational.
