CTOnews.com Sept. 26, according to the latest report released by screen supply chain consulting firm DSCC, as of August this year, shipments of panels used in Apple's iPhone 15 were up 23% compared with the iPhone 14 in the same period last year.

On the one hand, this is due to higher consumer demand, while on the other hand, it is due to the mitigation and resolution of iPhone 15 supply chain problems.

In June 2022, iPhone 14 Pro models accounted for 35 per cent of total shipments. The proportion of iPhone 15 Pro models in June 2023 was similar; in July 2022, Pro models accounted for about 45 per cent of shipments, compared with nearly 50 per cent in July 2023.

In August 2022, the share of iPhone 14 Pro models was just over 50 per cent, but in August 2023, the share of iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max was 59 per cent.

In the six-to-eight three-month period, the share of the iPhone 14 Pro model was 49% in 2022, while the share of the iPhone 15 Pro model was 55% in 2023.

CTOnews.com note: Monday's DSCC report also commented on screen production share, with Samsung Display accounting for 91% of iPhone 15 series screen orders in three months. By contrast, it has 84 per cent of the iPhone 14 series in 2022.

In August 2023, Samsung Display supplied all four iPhone 15 models, accounting for 87 per cent of the total, while LG Display accounted for 13 per cent, of which iPhone 15 Pro screen orders accounted for 9 per cent.

DSCC also pointed out that Chinese screen maker BOE will start supplying displays for iPhone 15 in late 2023. BOE already provides panels for iPhone 12, iPhone 13 and iPhone 14.
