Shipments of the new Galaxy folding screen phones are 8 to 10 per cent higher than those of the Galaxy Z Flip and Z Fold 4 in the same period last year, CTOnews.com reported, citing The Elec. In addition, the media also said that Galaxy Z Flip 5 accounted for 60% to 65% of shipments, while Z Fold 5 accounted for 30% to 35%.

However, Samsung may also face some challenges. Samsung had expected to order parts for 12 million to 1300 million Z5 series folding screen phones by the end of this year, but that number could fall by 1 million as the global recession could affect sales of folding screen phones, the report said.

Nevertheless, the media believes that if shipments of the Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 in 2023 are 10% higher than those of the previous generation, annual shipments of three-star Galaxy folding screen phones are expected to exceed 10 million for the first time.

Samsung will start producing parts for the Galaxy S24 series from mid-October, the media said. In addition, in response to the release of the iPhone 15 series, Samsung may release the Galaxy S24 series a month in advance.
