CTOnews.com notes that in the basic HTML view, Gmail will not support the following features:

Chat

Spell check tool

Keyboard shortcuts

Add or import contacts

Custom sender address

Rich text format

It is understood that the current web version of Gmail provides two interfaces: basic HTML view and standard view. When you stop supporting HTML views, the basic HTML view mode URL, which is currently open in Classic mode, is automatically redirected to the standard view interface. Google explained that if the browser is supported, Gmail will automatically open in the standard view.

After standard view becomes the only display mode available for the web version of Gmail, unsupported browsers may not be able to load. Currently, the supported browsers are as follows (Cookie and JavaScript need to be enabled no matter which one you use):

Safari

Microsoft Edge
