Skoda predicts that by 2030, the dealer network will rapidly expand to as many as 30 partners, with annual sales potential of more than 40,000 vehicles.

CTOnews.com learned from its website that Skoda's first models, Karoq (Kroc) and Kodiaq (Kodiak), will be imported from Europe, and local CKD (full bulk) production is scheduled to begin next year, aimed at taking advantage of Vietnam's proximity to India.

Klaus Zelmer, chief executive of Skoda, said: "Today is an important milestone in Skoda's history. By entering the Vietnam market, we have further consolidated our position in the global automotive industry." He pointed out that TC Motor (Vietnamese local partner) has a clear strategy and the medium-term plan is to work with about 30 local contract partners to assemble about 30,000 vehicles through the CKD suite.

From September 25, customers will be able to buy Karoq and Kodiaq at Hanoi's first Skoda showroom, and more showrooms in central and southern Vietnam are in the pipeline, with the goal of expanding the dealer network to 20 by 2025 and 30 by 2028.

Skoda has a clear roadmap for the Vietnam market and plans to expand its model portfolio according to customer preferences. The Mingrui and Speedway models are planned to be imported to Vietnam in the medium term, and the all-electric Enyaq series has also been launched to meet the growing demand for electric vehicles from Vietnamese consumers.

Starting in the second half of 2024, Skoda will take advantage of regional synergies, and the first Kushaq vehicles will be exported from India's Pune plant to Vietnam to be assembled in CKD kits, and Slavia will follow in 2025.
