CTOnews.com, September 23 (Xinhua)-- the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) tweeted today that the lunar rover and lander that failed to wake up the lunar ship 3 (Chandrayaan-3) within the scheduled date had not received a signal from them, and efforts were being made to establish contact.

The Pragia lunar rover and the Vikram lander went into hibernation mode on a cold moon night on September 2 and 4, respectively, and were scheduled to wake up and resume operation on September 22, but are still missing.

CTOnews.com Note: the "1 day" on the moon is equivalent to 28 days on Earth; it lasts about 14 earth days each, and the temperature at the moon's south pole can drop to minus 200 to 250 degrees Celsius at night, so the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) dormant the lander and lunar rover for 14 days, originally predicted that when the moon is at dawn on September 22, the battery will be able to recharge and wake up from dormancy.

ISRO is trying to establish contact with the lander and rover to determine their awakening, but so far no signal has been received and it is not possible to identify the cause of the failure, one of which may be battery damage in extremely low temperatures.
