CTOnews.com September 23 news, password management tool LastPass recently issued a notice, announced the mandatory requirement of at least 12 master passwords. For users who use a master password of less than 12 characters, LastPass has sent a notification by email asking for an update as soon as possible.

Since LastPass began in 2018, the minimum length of the master password for newly registered users has been adjusted to 12 characters, and now LastPass is deploying this policy to old users.

LastPass indicates that there is a risk of being cracked by using a too short master password. For example, using a 6-digit password containing numbers, case, and symbols can be cracked in almost a few seconds, while cracking 12 digits takes years.
