CTOnews.com September 22, Microsoft today officially released a new version of the Outlook for Windows email application, users can visit Microsoft Store to download and install.

The app began testing in May 2022, and Microsoft said the new version was developed to expand the audience platform, no longer limited to classic Windows 32-bit applications, web versions, and Mail and Calendar applications for Win10 systems, but also to become cross-platform versions based on the same code.

The app only needs to have a Microsoft account and can be used for free without subscription. The only thing related to paid subscriptions is that Outlook email attachments take up OneDrive space, which can be expanded to 1TB by subscription M365.

Microsoft said in a blog post that it is carrying new devices with Win11 23H2. And some devices that upgrade to 23H2, the new version of Outlook for Windows will be pre-installed by default.

CTOnews.com previously reported that X platform user PhantomOcean3 noticed that his Windows 11 Beta channel version 22631.2338 (KB5030305) automatically installed the new Outlook after reboot.
