To help the game run ray tracing at high frame rates, we inject ray samples into the scene and use noise reducers that need to be manually designed to fill in missing pixels for each lighting channel.

Each noise reducer that requires manual design accumulates multiple frames of pixels to add detail, effectively borrowing light from the past, but there is still a risk of introducing ghosts, eliminating dynamic effects, and reducing other effects.

DLSS 3.5 introduces ray reconstruction technology, which is also part of an advanced AI-driven neural renderer, to improve ray tracing image quality for all GeForce RTX GPUs by replacing manually designed noise reducers with NVIDIA supercomputer-trained AI networks that generate higher-quality pixels between sampled rays.
