CTOnews.com, September 21 (Xinhua) Microsoft has invited Windows Insider members of Canary and Dev channels to test a new version of the drawing tool, focusing on layers, one of the core features similar to Photoshop.

The message source @ XenoPanther revealed that for each additional layer, the memory footprint will increase by 2-4 MB.

The source also tested the usage of more than 2400 layers in extreme cases, indicating that the surface is very stuttered.

CTOnews.com previously reported that the biggest change in the new version is the ability to add, delete and manage layers on the canvas, which is already familiar to users who have used Photoshop or Procreate.

Microsoft has also added support for transparency in PNG images so that when you use a single layer, you can see a "chessboard" on the canvas, the transparent pixel part of the image.
