CTOnews.com September 21 news, after EA divided its business into EA Entertainment (EAE) and EA Sports, the ownership of the Criterion Games team that developed the Need for Speed series has finally been settled.

CTOnews.com has learned that Vince Zampella, general manager of EAE, announced in an announcement that the Criterion Games team will join EAE's Battlefield studio and work with DICE, Ripple Effect, Ridgeline and other studios led by general manager Byron Beede, although some Criterion Games employees who are not involved in the development of Battlefield series will continue to work on Need for Speed.

As we said before, we are fully committed to the Battlefield series. Today, Criterion joins the world-class Battlefield studio dedicated to ushering in a new era for the series.

The majority of the team will work with renowned studios such as Ripple Effect, Ridgeline and DICE under the leadership of Byron Beede, Battlefield Series General Manager.

Criterion's experience with Battlefield, EA's technology, and building engaging experiences will have a direct positive impact as we develop Battlefield 2042 and continue pre-production of new Battlefield titles. There is no better studio to join the journey.
