CTOnews.com September 20 news, Intel introduced performance cores (P-Cores) and energy efficiency cores (E-cores) on the 12th generation Core processor, on December 14 launched Core Ultra 1st generation processor, Intel also introduced low power computing island, built-in dual "Low Power E-cores"(Low Power E-cores), suitable for light loads.

The innovative low-power island design is located in the SoC Tile of the next generation processor, with two new low-power energy-efficient cores built in to further optimize the balance between energy saving and performance. P core, E core and LPE core together constitute 3D high-performance hybrid architecture.

According to IT Home previously reported, Intel Core Ultra 7 1002H processor recently appeared in Geekbench, its specification is 16 cores 22 threads, namely 6P core + 8E core + 2 low power E core design.

As shown above, Intel says most of the low usage background load can run on low power E cores.

In terms of energy efficiency, low-power E-cores require lower power consumption.

Intel named the part of the SoC module other than IO Complex as low power island, which includes media module, display engine, NPU, IPI and other components in addition to low power E core.
