The last update to the game on the Xbox Series S | X platform dates back to May last year, followed by patches, schema updates and new maps. Saber said that although it will no longer develop new content for the game, it will continue to keep the server running and fix major problems in a timely manner for the foreseeable future.

The inspiration for the game comes from the original movie trilogy of Ghost Playman and the original STARZ series Ghost player.
