CTOnews.com, Sept. 20 (Xinhua)-- Embracer Group announced an internal restructuring in June to cut expenses by laying off staff, cutting game projects, and selling or closing its game studios.

In the process of restructuring, Embracer Group announced that its independent RPG development studio Beamdog will cut 26 jobs, including producers, artists, QA testers and other supporting roles.

CTOnews.com Note: Beamdog Studios was founded in 2009 and is well-known in the industry for the development of Baird Gate: enhanced, Baird Gate 2: enhanced and mysterious Power (MythForce).

The news comes less than a year after Aspyr Media, a subsidiary of Swedish game group Embracer Group, acquired Beamdog. Embracer has been taking an active acquisition strategy in recent years, with more than 230 game companies.
