CTOnews.com, September 20 (Xinhua)-- Amazon opened its first Just Walk Out technology store in 2018, using cameras, shelf sensors, sensor fusion and artificial intelligence to skip payment. CTOnews.com noted that the technology has been widely used in entertainment venues, airports, universities, grocery stores and convenience stores, as well as stadiums in the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia.

Now, Amazon has announced a new technology that combines Just Walk Out technology and RFID functions, eliminating the need for a series of peripherals such as cameras, which is the first of the checkout-free technology and has the advantages of cost-effective and fast deployment.

Amazon has piloted the technology at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington, where customers can buy clothes, hats and shoes by simply taking away what they like (even if they have already put it on) and then leaving through the Amazon One device, automatically deducting money from a credit or debit card (you can also pay by swiping your card or swiping your palm) to avoid the hassle of waiting in line to pay.

When customers pass through the exit, the RFID tags on their clothes are recognized by RFID readers and can then be deducted through bound Amazon One payments, and online invoices or receipts can be obtained shortly after leaving the store.

According to reports, Amazon has more than 70 self-owned stores and more than 85 third-party retailers using Just Walk Out technology in the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia, and opens new stores every month.
