Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com, September 20, according to the latest data released by market research firm IDC, global augmented reality and virtual reality (AR / VR) shipments fell 44.6% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2023, the fourth consecutive quarter of decline.

IDC believes that the decline in shipments is mainly affected by a number of factors, including downward pressure on the global economy, a rise in the price of the popular Quest 2, hardware aging from a number of suppliers, and so on, further hampering the growth of the market.

IDC estimates that AR / VR head display shipments in 2023 will be 8.5 million units. Meta's position as a market leader has not changed, with a 50.2 per cent market share in the quarter.

However, the company does face challenges from Sony (27.1% market share) and byte jump (9.6% market share), both of which increased their market share in the second quarter of 2023. The top five are Xreal (formerly Nreal) and DPVR, each with a share of just over 2 per cent.
