CTOnews.com Sept. 19 news, at today's Intel ON Technology Innovation Summit, Intel announced the latest progress of the manufacturing process.

Intel said that the Intel 4 process is currently accelerating mass production and the launch of the new Meteor Lake processor. The Intel 3 process will also be ready in the second half of 2023. The Intel 20A process will be ready for manufacturing in the first half of 2024. The Intel 18A process will be ready for production in the second half of 2024.

Intel said that Intel will achieve five process nodes within four years. Among them, Intel 4 aims to improve yield and area reduction by using extreme ultraviolet lithography technology, so as to achieve high energy efficiency and lay the foundation for Intel 3. Intel 3, which is currently under development, will bring a denser design library, increase the transistor driving current and reduce through-hole resistance, which will make more use of EUV lithography.

Intel 20A represents Intel's entry into the Emmy era, using RibbonFET and PowerVia technologies. Built on the basis of Intel 20A, lntel18A increases performance per watt by 10% and gives Intel a leading position as a process node.
