CTOnews.com Xbox chief Phil Spencer emailed Microsoft employees earlier today about his massive Xbox breach.

Spencer said Microsoft's Xbox plans were "inadvertently leaked" as part of the FTC v. Microsoft case. He said the leaked files were "old files," many of them more than a year old, and Microsoft's plans had changed.

In any case, the xbox files do reveal a lot to us, such as diskless Series X, 2028 xbox models that offer "cloud hybrid games," new Xbox controllers, unannounced Bethesda games, and even discussions about acquiring nintendo.

Spencer said Microsoft's plans may have changed, especially since many of the files are years old. "I know it's disappointing that even though many of the documents are more than a year old, our plans have changed. "

Spencer shared a similar short statement on X (formerly Twitter),"We've seen discussions around old emails and documents. It's hard to see our team's work shared in this way, because so much has changed and there's so much to look forward to now and in the future. When we are ready, we will share the real plan. "

Hello everyone

Some of the documents we filed in court today in connection with the proposed acquisition of Activision Blizzard were accidentally leaked. I know this is disappointing, even though many of these documents are over a year old and our plans have changed.

I also understand that all of us take the confidentiality of our programs and partner information very seriously. The leak clearly failed us. We will also learn lessons and do better along the way. All of us put a great deal of passion and energy into our work and would never want us to share our work with the community in this way. Still, there are a lot of exciting things waiting for us, and we'll share the real plan with players when we're ready.

Finally, I want to thank you all for everything you've done for the Xbox team to surprise and delight our players. In the days and weeks ahead, let's continue to focus on what we can control: continuing the great success of Starry Sky and the upcoming Forza Horizon, and continuing to build games, services and devices that millions of players can enjoy.
