CTOnews.com September 19 news, there is news today that OPPO may restart the "chip design" business, and has begun to recruit former Zhe Ku technology staff back. OPPO responded to the Financial Associated Press by saying "no comment" on the matter.

On May 12 this year, ZEKU, a chip company owned by OPPO, suddenly announced its dissolution without warning.

OPPO said that in the face of uncertainty in the global economy and the mobile phone market, the company decided to terminate its ZEKU business after careful consideration. "this is a difficult decision, we will properly handle the relevant issues, and will continue to make good products and continue to create value."

Prior to this, OPPO has launched two Mariana chip products-- MariSilicon X and MariSilicon Y.

According to previous reports from CTOnews.com, the Mariana Y chip uses N6RF technology to make 192kHz / 24bit lossless audio wireless for the first time, with the world's first ultra-high-speed Bluetooth technology, with a maximum bandwidth of 12Mbps 4 times that of traditional Bluetooth and 1.5 times that of flagship platform Bluetooth.

According to public information, OPPO established Core subsidiary Shoupu Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. in 2019 and changed its name to Zhe Ku Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (ZEKU) in July 2020. ZEKU Chip Company covers a product line that includes core application processors, short distance communications, 5G Modem, RF, ISP and power management chips.
