Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com September 19, Canonical recently announced that in the upcoming Ubuntu 23.10, Firefox Snap has been configured to run in Wayland mode by default.

CTOnews.com Note: Ubuntu currently defaults to Wayland sessions, and Firefox works properly. However, the current Firefox Snap is actually running in XWayland-compatible mode, rather than the strict native Wayland mode.

Canonical announced that it will run the Firefox browser in Wayland mode by default, so that there will be no problems such as blurred interface and zoom distortion on the HiDPI display, and supports touch gestures such as dragging and gesture kneading.

As mentioned above, Ubuntu 23.10 will have Firefox Snap pre-installed to run in the native Wayland implementation.

In previous versions of Ubuntu, the native Wayland mode of Firefox browsers can also be enabled manually as follows:

Sudo snap refresh-channel=wayland firefox
