CTOnews.com, September 19 (Xinhua) Microsoft set the Web Page selection (Web Select) tool to be obsolete in the browser stable version of Edge 117.0.2045.31 released on September 15.

CTOnews.com Note: this tool allows users to copy selected areas while maintaining their format, and users can interact with selected areas, including editing and accessing embedded hyperlinks, and so on. Users can enable it through menus or Control+Shift+X shortcuts.

Microsoft said in its update log: "give up web selection: this is to improve the end-user experience, which has been deprecated and is no longer available in Web Capture and does not support keyboard shortcuts enabled."

Microsoft Mikhail Parakhin said it abandoned the feature because of its low utilization rate and high support cost.
