CTOnews.com, September 19, Microsoft released the latest preview update (version 2.0.0) of the Windows Linux Subsystem (WSL), with a number of improvements, including experimental features such as autoMemoryReclaim and Sparse VHD, which will help with cache and disk space management.

Microsoft said: "We have reclaimed a fixed portion of the memory size of the virtual machine, and if the virtual machine is full of cache memory, it will be released to zero cache memory after 30 minutes (for example, if 3000MB memory is allocated, 100MB will be reclaimed every minute when it is full)."

In addition, WSL 2.0.0 preview also enhances network-related features, and mirroring mode adds IPv6 support. In addition to mirror mode, DNS tunnel improvements and firewall support have been added.
