CTOnews.com VinFast, a Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer, said it delivered 9535 vehicles in the second quarter, more than five times more than in the first quarter, and will announce its second quarter results on September 21; deliveries in the first half of this year were 11315.

CTOnews.com notes that VinFast plans to expand in seven other markets in Asia, including Indonesia, where it aims to deliver from next year and set up factories by 2026.

The Indonesia plant will be VinFast's third plant, the first in the main plant in the northern Vietnamese city of Haiphong, and the second in a new plant (worth $4 billion) scheduled to open in North Carolina in 2025.

Last year VinFast applied to list on NASDAQ to raise money for its plant construction. VinFast had previously started selling cars outside Vietnam for the first time, delivering its first 45 vehicles in California on its first day.
