CTOnews.com Sept. 18, according to the latest data released by RUNTO, a market survey agency, the global projector market shipped 8.98 million units in the first half of 2023, an increase of 7.1% over the same period last year. Among them, China is the largest market in the world.

▲ Tu Yuan Luotu Technology, the same as CTOnews.com, learned from Lotu Technology that in the first half of 2023, Chinese mainland projector market shipments were 3.401 million units, down 7.5% from the same period last year, accounting for 37.9% of the global market. Despite the decline in shipments, Chinese mainland still has a significant global influence, with Chinese-made projectors and Chinese brands both accounting for more than 70 per cent of the global market, Loto said.

In other markets, North America is the world's second largest market, with 1.872 million units shipped in the first half of the year, accounting for 20.8 percent of the world's total; the Asia-Pacific region shipped 1.716 million units in the first half of the year, accounting for 19.1 percent of the world's total; Western Europe accounted for 12.8 percent of the world's fourth largest market, while Eastern Europe, Central East Africa and Latin America accounted for 2 percent and 4 percent of the global market.

In terms of technology, 1LCD (monolithic liquid crystal projection technology) occupies a dominant position in the global projector market. According to Lotu Technology data, 1LCD accounted for more than 60% of the global market in the first half of 2023, and 1LCD is almost the only technology in China to achieve full localization; DLP (digital optical processing technology) accounts for 27.1% of the global market and 33.2% of the Chinese market. 3LCD (three-piece liquid crystal projection display technology) accounted for 12.0% of global shipments, while at Chinese mainland, it accounted for 6.3%.

Loto Technology predicts that the global projector market will ship 18.97 million units in 2023, an increase of 6.4 per cent year-on-year, while the Chinese market is expected to ship 7.21 million units, down 5.7 per cent from the same period last year.
