CTOnews.com Sept. 18, September 17, Xinwanda subsidiary Xinwanda Energy Technology held an electrochemical energy storage industry development conference with the theme of "deepening new energy storage development and jointly creating green energy future", and officially released Xinwanda standard 20-foot 5MWh liquid-cooled energy storage system in the same period.

According to reports, Xinwanda 5MWh liquid-cooled energy storage system uses 4.17MWh energy storage large-capacity 314Ah cells to maintain 12000 cycle life and 20 years battery life, compared with the current mainstream 20-foot 3.72MWh energy storage system, claimed to increase the energy of the system by 35%.

Xinwanda said that using the conventional project capacity 100MW to calculate the initial investment cost, the large-capacity standard 20-foot 5MWh liquid-cooled energy storage system saves 43% of the floor space and 26% of the cost compared with the mainstream 3.72MWh products.

In terms of safety, the 314Ah LFP energy storage cell of the Xin Wanda 5MWh liquid-cooled energy storage system adopts a life-cycle safety boundary design, and the EOL and BOL cells are not out of control when they reach 200 ℃.

At the system level, Xinwanda 5MWh liquid-cooled energy storage system adopts PACK-level fire protection and PACK-level monitoring + directional explosion design to avoid thermal runaway diffusion and explosion; short-circuit monitoring + early warning in the whole life cycle to achieve active safety; combustible gas emission + explosion venting design, in line with NFPA68 and NFPA69 standards to avoid explosion; system subdivision design to achieve water and electricity separation to ensure the normal operation of fire monitoring.

In addition, the Xinwangda 5MWh liquid-cooled energy storage system adopts an efficient intelligent liquid-cooled temperature control system, which claims that the temperature difference at the system level is less than 5 ℃, which increases the cycle life of the system by 10% and reduces auxiliary power consumption by 20%.

CTOnews.com learned from Xinwanda officials that the 5MWh liquid-cooled energy storage system will be shipped in bulk in the fourth quarter of 2023.
