Last week, the 2023 Google developer Conference (Google I / O Connect | China) was successfully held in Shanghai. The 2023 "gathering Code Power" hackathon final roadshow, hosted by SegmentFault Siwei, was also held at the same time.

The 2023 Google developer Conference, as the content partner of this hackathon, provided multiple support for the competition. Around Mobile development, Web development, AI development, Cloud development, Google has many open source, intelligent and efficient development tools to help developers promote inspiration and harvest development opportunities.

Since its launch, the competition has attracted thousands of developers to sign up, and 27 teams have made it to the finals. After a 32-hour extreme programming challenge, 25 teams took to the roadshow stage with their product Demo.

Under the theme of "dealing with Social challenges and practical problems", the roadshow focuses on a wide range of social issues such as digital life of people with disabilities, disease prediction, animal rescue, and so on. Developers have created sound and feasible solutions with the help of Google ecological development tools from Android, Flutter, Firebase, ChromeOS, TensorFlow, Web, Google Cloud and so on.

After a fierce competition, the "Rainbow Dolphin Commonweal Guardian Vegetarian" team won the first place, the "AI Edison" team won the second prize, and the "code-worker" team won the third prize. In addition, eight teams, namely, "must win this award", "Robo Space", "Catventure", "count for the future", "Thai trousers are hot", "four-legged suva", "Yuanfang" and "how to code" won excellence awards.

First prize: rainbow dolphins protect vegetarian food and save information anxiety

The first prize in Shanghai Station was won by the "Rainbow Dolphin Commonweal Guardian Vegetarian" team. Based on the problem of information anxiety in the digital age, the team uses ChromeOS, flutterflow.io and other technologies to help users efficiently select products that better meet their needs from complicated product evaluation videos, simplify shopping and help solve modern people's information anxiety, which is of considerable practical significance.

Second prize: AI Edison, focus on animal rescue

With the help of Flutter's rapid development of multi-terminal deployment capabilities, as well as TensorFlow Lite's image recognition and semantic analysis capabilities, AI Edison's team has created an interactive "cloud-raised" platform for stray animals-stray cats, hoping to help stray animals get more effective attention and treatment in a gaming way.

Through the combination of AI Agent and real typical information, the project creates plot stories for virtual IP stray animals. Users can unlock the growth information of small animals at different stages in the progressive feeding process, and get an immersive experience. At the same time, the project also provides content creation capabilities for rescue stations to help them develop sustainable solutions from animal IP to animal rescue.

Third prize: code-worker, tapping the value of idle computing power

The "computing power sharing" created by the "code-worker" team has created a computing power solution with the help of Google development tools such as Web and Android, which solves the problem of uneven computing power matching. The scheme makes full use of idle low-end mobile phone computing power, and users can choose to share it with commercial projects or public welfare projects. In commercial projects, companies can obtain computing power at a lower cost, and users can also use idle computing power to obtain cash income, which has great potential in reducing costs and increasing efficiency; in public welfare projects, the program can also deal with the shortage of computing power in drug research and development in laboratories, as well as the problem of AI teaching in remote mountain areas, with both industrial value and social value.

Award of Excellence: pay attention to multiple groups and help to make life convenient

The works of the eight teams that won the Excellence Award also focus on multiple groups, including people with disabilities, the elderly, autistic children and so on. Among them, the "Robo Space" team has an insight into the pain points of sign language communication difficulties between non-hearing impaired people and hearing impaired people, and uses TensorFlow, MediaPipe, TensorFlow Lite, WebRTC, ChromeOS and other technologies to create a sign language recognition application, hoping to help non-hearing impaired people, parents and hearing impaired people, children with hearing impaired to communicate better and promote equality of communication.

The "Taiju Hot" team uses Flutter technology to bring a teaching application, hoping to provide each student with his or her own tutor with the help of Google open source technology. Through this application, users can clearly view the detailed problem-solving steps, ask questions about each knowledge point, and even customize the teacher's drawing questions, so as to achieve real equal rights in education.

At Shanghai Railway Station, we saw diverse teams, diverse works, and diverse technical applications. As the content partner of this competition, Google developers Conference not only shared new technical knowledge with developers, but also provided continuously updated online courses for Google developers, covering massive learning resources such as 150 + free Chinese courses, 10 + Google products and services, 230 + guided programming exercises, 240 + videos and 100 + technical articles, helping developers achieve technological advancement and practice opportunities through hackathons. Promote the landing of ideas. " It was during the two days and nights of the hackathon that the Rainbow Dolphin Community Guardian Vegetarian team learned the use of flutterflow.io and applied it to the project, which was finally a success.

The "gathering Code Power" hackathon runs through the mission of "technology benefits everyone", uses code as the driving force for innovation, gathers the strength of developers, and creates 25 applications of social significance. SegmentFault Sifu CTO Qi Ning said that the original intention of technology is to make our lives better. It is not necessarily a very complicated thing, but it must be people-oriented.
