Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--
CTOnews.com Sept. 18, Microsoft recently released Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 25951 to Canary Channel. According to the discovery of whistleblower Xeno, Microsoft quietly deleted some P2P (peer-to-peer) related services in this version.
According to revelations, Microsoft has deleted several DLL files related to peer-to-peer networks from the built System32 folder, such as those used for distributed routing and peer-to-peer services.
Xeno points out that with the deletion of more than a dozen such files, three services have disappeared:
Peer Name Resolution Protocol Peer name Resolution Protocol
Peer Networking Grouping peer-to-peer network packet
Peer Networking Identity Manager Peer to Peer Network identity Manager
CTOnews.com found that these services are quite old and have a history of more than 20 years. For example, the Peer name Resolution Protocol (PNRP), which originated in the Windows XP era, is a solution to some of the shortcomings of DNS.
Of course, Windows 11's Canary channel is only released to test new features, so these changes will not necessarily occur in the final official version.
