CTOnews.com Sept. 18, although the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) has not formally approved the Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) specification, products based on this technology are already on the market.

Currently, Intel has launched its first Wi-Fi 7 controller and adapter, which will be available in various forms this year. Intel has listed two Wi-Fi 7 network cards on its website: BE200 and BE202.

Both NICs support 2x2 TX / RX streaming, 2.4GHz, 5GHz and 6GHz, and the highest network speed can reach 5Gbps (the theoretical maximum throughput of Wi-Fi 7 is 46 Gbps). Even though it is worse than the 5.8 Gbps maximum big data speed specified on Intel's official website W-iFi 7, it still achieves the speed of the previous demonstration.

For comparison, Intel's current AX210 Wi-Fi 6e wireless card can reach speeds of up to 2.4 gigabytes and up to 3Gbps.

In terms of difference, the two products seem to be different in terms of frequency band, with an additional (160MHz) comment in BE202's 6GHz band support. In addition, Intel claims that BE200 has been pre-certified by Wi-Fi 7, while BE202 does not.

CTOnews.com notes that both Intel's BE200 and BE202 support PCIe and USB interfaces, which can be used on desktop motherboards and laptops.

As @ momomo_us pointed out, the upcoming gigabyte Aorus Z790 Master X motherboard (PCB version 1.2) will be pre-installed with the BE200 network card. At the same time, other versions will use Qualcomm's Wi-Fi 7 QCNCM865 (PCB version 1.0) and MediaTek's Wi-Fi 7 MT7927 and RZ738 (PCB version 1.1) network cards.

Of course, to take advantage of Wi-Fi 7, users also need to use Wi-Fi 7-compatible routers and AP, but most routers currently do not support the 6GHz band.
