On September 15, Junciton China 2023 Geek Marathon opened in the main exhibition hall of Tianfu Agricultural Expo Park located in Xinjin, Chengdu. More than 360 contestants from nearly 70 teams officially started the 48-hour programming marathon limit challenge.

It is the largest programming innovation competition in Europe founded in 2015 and has been held more than 30 times around the world. Its innovation has built an ecological network of universities + industry leaders, linked more than 510 university teams around the world to participate in the competition, and reached track cooperation with more than 180 global top enterprises. The competition brings together top technical talents from all over the world, focusing on the most cutting-edge technology fields of the present and future, and requires participants to work together as a team within 48 hours to program and create solutions to various challenges issued by track partners.

With the theme of "Geek Rongcheng·Digital Wisdom Xinjin," this activity is Junction's fourth visit to China and the third time to Chengdu. This competition focuses on artificial intelligence and meta-universe, deeply combines the actual industry and innovation needs of each enterprise, and jointly releases artificial intelligence, digital twin, intelligent core connection and AIGC4 domestic offline tracks and 1 edge computing global online track challenge together with Nokia, Guanglianda, Xinyuan Microelectronics and Yuntian Lifei.

Among them, the offline competition is carried out in the form of "industry-leading enterprises issue questions_college students provide solutions_enterprise expert tutor review_enterprises release internship entry opportunities," attracting teams from 40 national first-class universities such as Tsinghua University and Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics to participate in the competition, and it is estimated that 60 innovative project achievements will be produced.

It is worth mentioning that, in addition to the Junction Track Challenge, this activity also includes a "Rong-Europe Industry Dialogue-Chengdu-Finland Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Dialogue in 2023" and a "China-Finland Digital Intelligence Industry and Talent Innovation Activity" to assist Chengdu's foreign industrial cooperation and talent introduction in multiple dimensions through the competition platform.

At the Chengdu-Finland Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Dialogue held before the opening ceremony, Chengdu actively explored new opportunities for cooperation by inviting representatives of enterprises in the fields of Rongfen digital economy, intelligent manufacturing, clean energy and equipment to Xinjin to promote the accurate matching of enterprise resources, technology and development needs.

On the scene of the dialogue meeting, more than 30 Finnish science and technology enterprises such as Nokia, Qt Group and Valmet Group carried out in-depth exchanges and project docking with local enterprises in Chengdu. Chengdu's science and technology innovation ecology and investment environment left a good impression on them, and many enterprises have reached preliminary cooperation intentions.
