Tesla currently has four factories producing cars, two of which are located in the United States, Fremont, California and Austin, Texas. In addition, Tesla has two super factories in Shanghai, China and Berlin, Germany.

It is worth mentioning that the 2 million Chinese Smart Tesla vehicle from the Shanghai Super Factory just went offline on September 6. According to Tesla, 99.9 per cent of the Shanghai super factories are Chinese employees, and the localization rate of parts in the Shanghai super factories is more than 95 per cent. The vertical purchasing mode is adopted to avoid "middlemen earning price differences".

In addition, Tesla also plans to build new factories outside the United States in the next few years and continue to expand the scope of production.
