Before the launch of the press conference, foreign science and technology media Windows Central collected relevant information about the specification and appearance of Surface Go 4.

The price and release date Microsoft released Surface Go 4 on September 21, and shipments began in October.

In addition, it is reported that Microsoft only sells Surface Go 4 through commercial channels, which means that there are no plans to launch a consumer version.

It is reported that the Surface Go 4 memory will start directly from 8GB and start at around $500 (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 3640 yuan).

Specification parameters CTOnews.com reported in August that the Surface Go 4 being developed by Microsoft is internally codenamed Tanta, and the entry-level model will be equipped with SoC based on Snapdragon 7c, which is similar to the current Surface Go in performance, but has higher energy efficiency and longer battery life.

The media learned from the source that Microsoft had delayed the device codenamed Tanta and instead launched Surface Go with Intel processors for enterprise users.

The new Surface Go will be powered by an Intel N200 processor and will be more powerful and less power-consuming than the current core i3-10100Y top Surface Go.

The processor provides four energy efficiency cores (E core, Gracemont architecture) at a frequency of up to 3.7 GHz. The performance of the E kernel should be similar to that of the older Skylake kernel (compared to Core i7-6700HQ). All kernels can use up to 6 MB L3 cache.

The Alder Lake-N chip only supports single-channel memory up to DDR5-4800, DDR4-3200 or LPDDR5-4800. The chip also supports fast synchronization and AV1 decoding (probably the same as the engine in Alder Lake). In addition, there is partial integration of Wi-Fi 6e and Bluetooth 5.2 (but no Thunderbolt). External chips can be connected via PCIe Gen3 x9 (via PCH).

The integrated graphics adapter is based on the Xe architecture and provides all 32 EU (execution units) with a running frequency of only 450-750 MHz. Due to single-channel memory, low frequency speed and the number of low-flow processors, iGPU's game performance is very limited.

The basic power consumption of the N200 is only 6 W, so it is suitable for fanless cooling. The CPU is built using Intel's further improved 10nm SuperFin process, called Intel 7.

In addition, the starting memory of the machine has been increased from 4GB to 8GB, and the previously rumored 16GB will not be introduced. There are three kinds of storage space: 64GB, 128GB and 256GB.

Including screen size and resolution, as well as port and battery size, other device specifications are said to remain the same.

The exterior of the design Surface Go 4 is the same as that of Surface Go 3, but the interior has been redesigned to use modular design to improve maintainability.

The port and size are expected to remain the same, but sources say the device will support AI effects such as voice articulation for the first time.
