This period also produced a new generation of programming languages, database management systems and network software.
With the changes of physical components and devices, not only the computer host has undergone upgrading, but its external equipment is also constantly changing. For example, external memory, from the initial cathode ray display tube to the development of magnetic core, drum, and later developed into a general purpose disk, there is now a smaller volume, larger capacity, faster read-only optical disk (CD-ROM).
